Most blogs fail. Okay let me try to be a little nicer here... Most blogs don't make money. That's more or less the correct statement. Logs don't really ever fail right? I mean after all it's a Blog and you do with it what you want.
Now if you want a successful money-making blog there are a few key things that you need to make sure to do . No this is not going to be something about affiliate marketing, this is not going to be something about advertising, but this is going to be something about how to actually run your blog to where people want to read it .
The Key to a Successful Blog
There are a few key points to a successful money-making blog . So let's chat about them .
1. Serve your people
This will always be the number one thing . You need to serve your people and do it good . People are looking for help and that's why you're here is to actually help them . No course you want to make money along the way , but in order to do so you need to help others . I'm a big advocate of helping others and I'm not going to say karma but I'll say karma .
Do good in this world and good will always come back to you .
2. Be authentic
You want to attract your people. You want to create a tribe and attract like-minded individuals. This is going to make everything so much better. The only way to do this is to actually be yourself. Stop trying to mimic other people. There is only one you in this world and that is your power. Read that over again and again and again until it gets into your head . If you are authentic people are going to relate to you. They're going to connect to you. They're going to want to support you. And they're going to become your tribe. If you try to mimic someone else, or someone else's blog, or someone else is content, it's just going to be a lesser version of that person stuff . Basically you will never succeed at this . You need to be yourself people need you, this world needs you, this world needs your voice and your thoughts .
This will always be the number one thing . You need to serve your people and do it good . People are looking for help and that's why you're here is to actually help them . 3. Be consistent
I have come to find out that a matter of fact it's true... Consistency is key. Now as I said in a bajillion other blog posts I have a really ugly blogging history . I've blogged on and off for multiple years trying to figure it out and trying to not believe this whole you have to block once a week kind of thing . The truth is, you need to be consistent .
There are three reasons that you need to be consistent:
For your audience
your audience signed up to your blog for a reason. They want to hear from you. They value your voice, they connect with you personally, and they need your information.
For Google Seo Ranking
Google needs to see that your website is active in order to be able to rank you higher in the search engine . The rule of thumb is to blog at least once a week, but if you can block more often then freaking do it .
For Yourself
Yes you read that right you need to blog for yourself . This is going to give you a creative Outlet, this is going to help you be able to connect with others, this is going to make you feel accomplished, and it's going to give you a sense of fulfillment .
4. Make it easy
You really do need to make your blog easy . The easier it is the more people are going to enjoy it and have a better experience . So things like navigation needs to be easy, fonts need to be easy to read, it needs to be easy to sign up for your newsletter, and the list goes on and on . Mainly when you are creating a blog post or adjusting your website just keep in mind simplicity .
5. Provide valuable information
Yes I might have saved the best for last . Your blog is not going to make any money if you don't provide good valuable information . You have to provide value to your listeners . If you just copy and paste things that other people wrote, or you link to a different website with a recipe that was online, or you just jot down some random stuff just to be able to create a blog post , your blog will not make any money and no one will want to read it . You need to be providing your valuable information and your valuable perspective . People value your perspective. People want to see what you have to say so just start saying it .
This also links back to serving . You need to serve your audience and your listeners with valuable information . These two go hand-in-hand and that is why I started the blog post was serving and I'm ending it with value . Every time you create a blog post think am I helping someone else and I'm at creating valuable information that someone can learn from .
